If you’re thinking about applying for a role in one of our many brands we prefer you to have the following credentials;

  • Previous Retail Experience

You can expect that your days on counter will be fast paced and energetic. There is always something to keep you busy, whether it is serving customers utilising our high touch philosophy, educating customers on products, techniques and skin care regimes, merchandising products, on counter coaching/mentoring and or administration activities.

Customers are attracted to our counters as they know they can expect to be served by Retail employees who will be wearing the latest trends or classic makeup – they want to be able to replicate that look. Moving Up - Managing a Counter and Leading a Team

We are a company that heavily invests in succession planning. So the best way to become an Assistant Manager or Counter/Retail/Studio/Boutique Manager is to start out as a Retail Employee. Starting your career in a retail customer service role, means that you intuitively understand the culture of the brand and recognise the importance of providing the team with a clear framework of strategic priorities to achieve counter goals.

However from time to time we do need to look outside of our business to engage new talent. We prefer our Retail Managers to have the following qualifications;

  • 3 - 5 years of Retail Experience
  • 2 years of previous Management experience
  • Exceptional Communication skills
  • Previous experience coaching and developing team members

At Estée Lauder Companies we consider our managers to be ‘Leaders’ in every sense of the word. Our Retail Leaders are responsible for the total operation of their assigned store or counter and leads their team in customer service, sales achievement and successes. The Retail Leader is also accountable for the development and progression of their team including the Assistant Manager. It essential to the success of this role, that the Leader be capable of developing strong working relationships with those around them and with their team in head office.

Move over! - make a big impression with a career as a make-up artist

Estee Lauder Companies offers numerous ways to become a Makeup Artist. Our brands that have Makeup Artistry positions are Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and M.A.C.

Bobbi Brown and M.A.C provide opportunities for industry trained and qualified Makeup Artist to join as Casuals, Part Timers and Full Timers. It is an expectation that Makeup Artists are required to harness their inner creativity to create a new look each day based on the current colour collections and trends. The main responsibility a Makeup Artist has is to educate customers on products and applications demonstrating correct application techniques.

Above and beyond the retail aspect of their roles, select Makeup Artists in M.A.C participate in Public Relations events such as Fashion Week.

The pinnacle of the Makeup Artists career is to become a Senior Artist (MAC) or National Makeup Artist (Bobbi Brown & Estee Lauder). These positions represent the brand on a national leveland responsibilities include conducting media interviews and creating individualised make up for magazine and TV media shoots.

For the aspiring or established Makeup Artist we also offer artistry opportunities in Estee Lauder. These positions require a minimum of three years experience in the industry
